Everyone has heard of pot brownies, but eating chocolate over and over again gets old after a while. There comes the need for something fresh and new. Well, it’s possible to use cannabis in other common favorite foods as well.
Here are six cannabis butter recipes that are fun, easy to make, and are guaranteed to not be boring to the taste buds.
1. Cannaburgers
After a night of smoking, it’s normal to crave something meaty and greasy and this cannaburger recipe will fit that bill. It calls for cannabis olive oil rather than cannabutter, but you can substitute it by melting it down.
It calls for:
- Fatty hamburger meat
- Cannabutter
- 1 Tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 Cup of red cracked chilis
- 1 Tablespoon of rock salt
- 1 Cup of minced onions
- An egg
- Hamburger buns
- Everyone’s favorite toppings
Combine the cannabutter with the hamburger meat, onion, spices, and egg. The spices can vary, but using red cracked chilis gives it a pleasant kick. Once the meat is well mixed by hand, it’s time to make the patties.
From here it will work just like cooking any other burger. Putting them on the grill will create a mouth-watering smoky flavor but not everyone has a grill.
Pan frying is widely available and a skillet will produce thin, diner-style burgers. Both methods have their benefits.
2. Mac and Cheese
There is something about mac and cheese that makes it a classic. Is it the crusty top? The creamy cheese? It may be hard to grasp this, but we just knew we had to include it with our cannabis butter recipes.
There are a lot of ingredients for this recipe so hang on tight:
- 1/2 Pound of elbow macaroni, or shells
- 1 Tablespoon of canola oil
- 1 Tablespoon of salt.
That’s just for the pasta, the cheese sauce calls for:
- 5 Tablespoons of cannabutter
- 2 1/2-3 Cups of warm milk
- 1 Cup of smoked mozzarella
- 2 Cups of medium cheddar
- 1 Tablespoon of kosher salt
- 1 Teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1/2 Teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 Teaspoon of ground nutmeg
- 1 Cup of breadcrumbs
- 1/2 Cup of sharp cheddar
For onion rings:
- 1 Small onion peeled, and thinly sliced
Start off by preheating the oven to 375 degrees. While it’s doing that, bring water, salt, and oil to a boil in a large pot and add the noodles.
Melt the cannabutter in a small saucepan and add the flour. Whisk this mixture constantly for five minutes. Add in the warm milk and cook it until it’s thick and smooth. Put in the cheese, salt, paprika, pepper, and nutmeg, dump in the macaroni, and stir the mixture well. Once it’s mixed pour it into a buttered 6-8 ramekins.
Combine the canola oil, sharp cheddar, and breadcrumbs in a small bowl. Sprinkle it on to the ramekins and bake it for 25-35 minutes.
While it bakes, keep busy by cooking the onion rings. It takes 4-5 minutes and when they are done frying in the oil, take them and place them on a paper towel to catch some of the grease. They will be sprinkled on top of the mac and cheese before it’s served.

On top of food, there are many cannabis butter recipes for beverages as well. One of these is Thai iced tea.
