As of November 4th, 2020 thirty-six states have legalized medical weed, and 15 states legalized recreational marijuana. What better way to celebrate than to make some legal edibles! But which cannabis brownie recipes are good?
There are a lot of great weed brownie recipes and a lot of bad pot brownie recipes. Let’s take a look at how to make cannabis brownies with an easy recipe! Follow along to make a nice mellow snack later tonight!
Ingredients and Prep
Gather all your ingredients, though you can use a boxed brownie mix if you’d like. You can also use other cannabis-infused ingredients like cannabis coconut oil, cannabis sugar, and others for the ingredients listed. You can get a full-spectrum CBD tincture from Cali Botanicals, which can be used in place of oil but be careful with your cannabis-infused ingredients, you don’t want too much THC in your edibles, or you could make yourself sick.
- 1 stick of cannabutter
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup cake flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 oz. semisweet chocolate
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, then grease a 9×7 pan and line it with parchment paper. Then you want to prep two mixing bowls. One for the wet ingredients and one for the dry.
Dry Ingredients
Mix in your cocoa powder, cake flour (or brownie mix!), sugar, salt, then finish with your baking powder and baking soda. Combine your ingredients thoroughly. Now set aside your dry bowl and grab your wet bowl.
Wet Ingredients
Start out by combining your cannabutter, vanilla, and eggs. Next, you want to melt your chocolate in either the microwave or a double boiler. Stir the chocolate until it melts.
Now gently fold the chocolate into the mixture. Go slow and make sure everything is mixed uniformly, but don’t aerate the mixture too much. You want brownies, not air bubbles!
Bring It All Together
Fold the wet batter into the dry ingredients. This will be thick, so have a strong arm nearby if you need it! Then drop the brownie batter into the waiting pan, scraping every last drop of the mix you can into the pan.
Now, smooth the mixture down into the pan, pounding it flat on the counter to free any potential trapped air. That done, place your brownies into the oven for fifteen minutes. Rotate, then bake for another fifteen.
Brownies At Last!
Time to remove your brownies from the oven. Then, let the pan cool for *at least* ten minutes. After that, you can eat your edibles, but they will be more potent if you let them cool completely.
With edibles, it’s best to serve in small chunks. You want that nice mellow high, and too much of a good thing can give you stomach aches, among other things. You want to keep in mind that it can take anywhere from thirty to ninety minutes to kick in, depending on the person, so wait a bit before you decide the brownies are duds.
